For the JTSE trade fair, we partnered with Digital Projection to create an immersive interactive experience on a large 6 × 2.5 m wall. The entire visual environment was generated in real time using Notch, and made fully interactive thanks to Augmenta’s tracking technology. This project explored the fusion of responsive visuals and spatial interaction, offering visitors a dynamic and reactive installation that evolved with their movements, thanks to Augmenta volumetric realtime capabilities.

Two distinct visual aesthetics were created for the installation. The first one was designed to highlight all the tracking information from Augmenta like bounding box, centroid, id, height, velocity. The second showcased the color palette and projection capabilities of Digital Projection’s projectors

On each of the two panels, we added an interactive zone that triggers an effect when a person enters it. Then, like a slider, moving the body from left to right allows the user to control the effect.
In the data panel, entering the zone enhances the world, while the slider controls the height of the cubes. In the creative panel, the zone manipulates the camera and the direction of the light, giving users direct control over the visual composition

The visuals were created using Notch VFX, allowing for real-time 3D rendering. The point cloud of the visitors is provided by Augmenta, which merges data from three 3D cameras and sends it via WebSocket to TouchDesigner Augmenta’s official plugin.

Inside TouchDesigner, the visuals are compiled within a Notch block, and through an exposed parameter, the point cloud is sent to the Notch block with zero latency.
