Can you briefly present yourself, your passion and your background ?

Benoit Arbelot, I have an engineering degree and a PhD in computer graphics. I worked as a creative engineer at Theoriz studio for the past 7 years. I work on real time interactive projects for immersive spaces, video mappings and virtual production.
I am passionate about procedural creation, particles and physical simulations.

What was the project brief about interactivity, and the overall concept ?

The immersive space of cosmocite is designed for visitors and special events. Each content had a different brief :
– Asteroids : A collaborative game that can be played as an arbitrary number of players (from 1 to tens). Anyone can join or leave the game at any time, the game automatically adapts its difficulty to the current level of players.

– Abyss : A contemplative interactive experience where each participant can interact with playful jellyfishes.

– Evolution : An artistic experience where each participant can leave its mark in the fluids and interact with other participants.

– Ice Core Adventure : An escape game during 1h, made for 4 to 12 participants. Participants explore a laboratory to unveil the secrets of ice samples.

How did you approach it and what was your creative vision ?

Each content was designed on its own and tailored to its intent usage. We tried to design an experience as intuitive as possible for every user and every use case.

Can you give us some insight about your workflow to create interactive content and the tool you use ?

We used Augmenta for all the interaction. Designing prototypes in Unity using the simulator. Then testing each scenario at scale in our interactive studio, the Lablab.
